“खोया-खोया सा है ये दिल, खोई-खोई सी है सुबह,

चलते-चलते राहों में, मिल गया है नया जहाँ।

खट्टी-मीठी सी ये जो शरारत है,

लगता है यही तो जीने की आदत है...”

The Malhan family had just shifted from Udaipur to Banaras a few days ago. Because of the move, the house was still a little messy and unarranged.

(Sorry,guyss..for choosing udaipur..but maiko agar koi place acche se pata hai toh voh Rajasthan hai after Up..so iss liyee..🥲🙃)

It was a lazy Sunday morning at the Malhan residence. Everyone was at the breakfast table, except for one person.

"Maira."

"Maa, aapne hum teeno ko toh itne jaldi utha diya Sunday waale din bhi, par Maira ko bhi toh uthaao! Woh kahin ki maharani hai kya?" Kairav said in a betrayed tone, making everyone at the table chuckle.

"Utha toh rahi hoon kab se 'maharani' ko," Disha said while serving tea to Anil.

"Par woh maharani uthe tab na? Uthane par keh rahi hai, 'Mumma yaar, sone do na,'" Disha continued, gesturing with her hands.

"Par yeh koi baat nahi hoti, Maa. This isn't fair! You woke us up so early and she is still sleeping. Just look at the clock-it's 9:15!" Kairav said, popping a slice of cucumber into his mouth.

"Haan, Mumma, uthaao Mairu Di ko. Unhe kal se school jaana hai na? And she hasn't even picked up her school uniform from the shop yet," Ruhi added before taking a sip of water.

"Kya?!" Disha exclaimed in shock. "Usne abhi tak school uniform nahi pick ki apni?" Disha asked, looking straight at Ruhi.

Meanwhile,inside Maria's room....

The AC was set to a cool temperature, the curtains were still drawn tight, and the ceiling fan was in full swing. But our Maira...

She was lying on her bed like someone who hadn't slept in five years. She was cuddled into her duvet like a panda with its owner, murmuring things in her sleep like,

"Amzamzhahmsbmmvd"-sounds that were impossible for any human to understand.

Back in the dining area....

"Ruko, bahut ho gaya ab... isko main batati hoon," Disha said, grabbing a glass of water and getting up from her chair.

"Par Mumma-" Before Ruhi could complete her sentence, Disha raised her hand and gestured for her to stop.

"Main ab utha ke aati hoon is maharani ko... bahut sona hai na unko," Disha said. As she pushed back from the table, the high, screeching sound of her chair was the only noise left in the silent room.

Disha stepped into her heels and stormed toward Maira's room like a typical Indian mom.

Inside Maria's room....

Disha stood outside Maira's door with a glass of ice-cold water in one hand and the other hand on her hip. She began knocking so hard that the sound echoed all the way down to the dining area, making everyone downstairs gulp in unison.

When no response came from Maira's side, Disha pulled her next move.

"Maira betu, uth ja bacche..." Disha said in a voice dripping with honey.

"Mumma, yaar... sone do na," Maira groaned, cuddling deeper into her duvet.

That was the last thread of Disha's patience.

"UTH RAHI HAI YA NAHI TU?!" Disha shouted at such a high volume that the people in the dining area stumbled; a slice of bread even fell right out of Ruhi's mouth.

But Maira was still sleeping like a Kumbhkaran.

Disha wasn't going to back off so easily, so she used her Brahmastra.

"Maira, dekh uth ja. Last time keh rahi hoon, warna tera do din tak bahar jaana band! Aur kal school tiffin mein bhi tujhe lauki ki sabji aur roti dungi," Disha said, smirking to herself.

"Arrey! Uth gayi!" Maira yelled, throwing the duvet aside.

"Haan... pehle gate khol tu," Disha said, her tone returning to normal.

"Haan, haan... ruko, do minute uthne toh do bed se," Maira replied, frustration showing on her face, though she kept it out of her voice.

"Pata nahi kaun se khandaan mein paida ho gayi hoon main," Maira murmured under her breath, her voice too low to leave the room. "Sone bhi nahi dete mujhe... Pata nahi kaun sa khet jootwana hai mujhse inhein," she grumbled as she walked toward the door.

"Lo, khol diya," she said, swinging the door open.

Disha was now calmly sipping the water, smiling in victory at having finally woken her daughter up.

"Haan, chal ab jaldi se ready hoke neeche aa," Disha said, turning back toward the staircase.

"Ughhhhh! Yeh log!" Maira groaned, kicking her legs in the air like a girl trying to start an invisible bike.

Inside Goenka Villah.......

It was a lazy Sunday morning for the rest of the world, but for the Goenka women, it was a complete holiday with a "VIP Servant Card."

Yes, today was the day the Goenka women waited for all week-because it wasn't just a normal Sunday. It was the Sunday where all the men of the family took over every household chore while the ladies just sat back and hung out.

Inside the kitchen...

"Thik se kar na Pankaj, aise nahi hoga yeh," Sanjay said while chopping carrots.

"Nahi bhaiya, yeh dekho, aise hi hoga," Pankaj argued, showing Sanjay a video on his tablet of how to properly cut cabbage.

"Bhai....yrrr,main toh thak gaya," Vansh complained, wiping his hands on a kitchen cloth.

"Dekho isko! Ek chawal dhone ka kaam diya aur usmein bhi maharaj thak gaye," Kunal teased as he put the rice into the pressure cooker.

"Aur nahi toh kya, bhaiya? Chawal dhone mein bhi toh kitni mehnat lagti hai!" Vansh said with a dramatic, stunned face. "Pehle ek paani se dhoo, phir do paani se, phir teen paani se... aur uske baad dhyaan do ki chawal sink mein gir na jaye!" he added, counting the steps on his fingers.

"Haan, haan, beta... very difficult work," Kunal joked, making everyone in the kitchen erupt into laughter.

Everyone was busy with their respective tasks, but one person was working with intense concentration and neatness:

Kartik.

His job was to prepare the dessert, and he was doing it flawlessly. He hadn't spilled a drop of milk, hadn't added any extra sugar, and hadn't even messed up his workspace.

"Bhai, sabka toh thik hai, par koi Kartik bruh ko toh dekho!" Vansh shouted, drawing everyone's attention toward him.

Sensing every pair of eyes on him, Kartik couldn't help but feel a bit shy. "Aap log apna apna kaam karo na, please," he said. A small, genuine smile bloomed on his face.

And just like that, the Goenka men were on a mission to impress the women, who were relaxing outside the kitchen.

Outside the kitchen....

"Arryyy..didi, main toh keh rahi hoon ki Sunday roz-roz aana chahiye, haina?" Pooja said, making the rest of the women chuckle.

"Arrey jaane do, Pooja! Kyun becharon ko maarne par tuli ho?" Rashi joked, causing even more laughter.

"M.ummy, yaar, lekin yeh log bana kya rahe hain?" Naira asked, her eyes still glued to her phone.

"Pata nahi beta... voh toh tere papa log hi jaane," Pooja replied, her voice trailing off into a lighthearted laugh that echoed through the room, perfectly capturing the chaotic warmth of a Sunday afternoon....
